What to Do If You Are Banned in Apex Legends

Can’t get into Apex? Check whether EA has restricted the account or you’ve lost access to the login. Then take the right route to an appeal or recovery.

If you’re banned in Apex Legends, the email notice is the place to start. It should help you work out what EA has restricted before you try to fix the problem.

Open EA Help and use the affected account. We’d start there rather than with a new login: a different account won’t show the action you’re looking for.

Work out what is stopping you getting in

An account lock protects a login after suspicious activity or too many failed attempts. Being locked out doesn’t necessarily mean you’ve been banned in Apex Legends for something you did in a match.

A temporary suspension runs for a set period. A permanent ban has no expiry. Read the duration in the message so you know whether you’re waiting for access to return or asking EA to reconsider an ongoing restriction.

A game restriction can cover one game or part of it, while wider action can affect the whole EA identity or a device. When you’re banned in Apex Legends, check that scope too. Getting into another EA game doesn’t tell you whether this particular action has ended.

Find the entry and check whether you can appeal

Open Penalty History and look under Your violations. Select Review beside the relevant entry. You’ll see the type of action, the reason and its status, rather than having to guess why you’re banned in Apex Legends.

If you haven’t appealed that violation and Appeal is available, select it and follow the instructions shown. Keep the request with that entry in your case history. You’re asking EA to look again at the action that left you banned in Apex Legends.

No Appeal control for a request you haven’t submitted? EA’s Apex support page gives a contact route for a ban or suspension you believe is a mistake. Use that official route rather than guessing why the control is missing.

Once you submit, the status updates there. The support response comes by email when EA has finished the review. Check your Spam folder as well as your inbox if you can’t find the message.

Explain the part you think EA got wrong

Use the reported reason as your starting point. If you believe you were wrongly banned in Apex Legends, explain what happened and why you dispute that particular finding. Include relevant information about the incident instead of a complaint about an unrelated match.

The Terms of Service cover behaviour as well as programs. For example, deliberate rank boosting with cheaters is prohibited even if somebody else ran the cheat. That’s a different issue from whether a program was running on your own PC.

EA classes aimbots and wallhacks as unauthorised software. If that’s the finding behind being banned in Apex Legends, address it directly in the request. The team reviews the original action alongside the additional information you send.

Recover the login if someone else got in

A sign-in problem after suspected account theft needs EA’s security steps. Clear the browser cache, reset your EA password and the password for its email address, then enable two-factor authentication.

Reset passwords for linked accounts too, including your console login. If you were banned in Apex Legends after a compromise, changing only the EA password leaves the other connected access needing attention.

Still can’t log in? Contact EA through the recovery route. Have the original email address, connected usernames or console IDs and any relevant purchase invoices or game codes ready. EA lists those as information that can help it recover the account.

Read the result and follow the next step

An appeal decision can uphold, change or remove the penalty. You may remain banned in Apex Legends, receive a different restriction or have access restored if EA finds a mistake. Read the result before assuming the action has gone.

If you’re still banned in Apex Legends after a suspension’s end date, check for EA’s instructions to re-enable the account. If there’s no message and access hasn’t returned, open the history again and read the type and duration shown there. A missing email alone doesn’t tell you which action EA applied.

Your questions answered

Why is there nothing in my history?

Check which EA Account you signed in with. The page only shows that account’s actions. EA also lists a display bug as a possible cause and advises trying later; an empty page doesn’t establish why access failed.

What if there isn’t an Appeal button?

If you’ve already appealed, check its status and the decision email. If you haven’t and cannot see the control, use the official contact route on EA’s Apex support page for a ban or suspension you think is a mistake.

Can Surch Cheats get the account reopened?

No. We sell cheats, not an EA appeal or account-recovery service. Use EA’s official route for the account you want reviewed.

What if PlayStation or Xbox blocked me?

Contact the relevant console support team. EA says a restriction applied by PlayStation or Xbox needs to be handled with that company directly.
