Keep the ban notice when you receive a Rust ban. A message from one server and an EAC restriction on the account need different contacts. Begin with the wording you actually received rather than the last thing you changed on your PC.

Separate a game restriction from one server’s decision
An EAC message about a Rust ban concerns a game restriction on the account. It prevents that account joining secured servers. That is more specific than a connection failure, so keep the actual message rather than describing every failed join as the same problem.
A community server can make its own local decision. Save its name and contact the server owner about that restriction. An answer from another operator will not explain what happened on this one.
For a local Rust ban, read that server’s rules before writing. Describe the decision you want checked. A server-specific penalty is not, by itself, proof that the wider account has received a game sanction.
Use the appeal contact attached to EAC
Facepunch’s EAC guidance directs a disputed Rust ban to the anti-cheat provider. Its own support team cannot overturn that decision. Use the linked appeal route for the account involved.
An incorrectly issued game ban may be reversed through review. Sending a support ticket only asks for that review; it does not confirm the result. Keep the request and later decision as separate records.
The Rust ban can appear after the activity that caused it. Do not assume the time of the notice identifies the exact session behind it. Give the actual case details instead of building your explanation around that timing alone.
Secure the account if somebody else accessed it
Recover control if the Steam identity was compromised. Account security matters while a restriction is unresolved, because you still need control of the sign-in and recovery details. A ban dispute is not a substitute for protecting those.
A compromised sign-in does not automatically remove a Rust ban. The official guidance keeps responsibility for activity with the account holder. Describe any unauthorised access accurately without treating it as a guaranteed appeal result.
Restored account access means you can reach the identity again. It does not mean the sanction has changed. Check the restriction separately after recovery rather than treating a successful sign-in as an unban.
Read the qualified return policy in full
Facepunch’s second chance policy concerns some older restrictions. It retains the original Rust ban record. A possible route back under that policy is therefore different from clearing the account that was sanctioned.
The age condition is eight months, alongside restrictions on repeat cheating and evasion. Read the full eligibility rules together. Reaching that age alone is not a promise that every player can return.
A Rust ban involving hardware is excluded from that return policy. Community server decisions are separate too. Surch Cheats cannot change the conditions or grant an exception for a software customer.
Do not buy a hardware product as an appeal
A Rust HWID ban concerns the machine. A permanent sanction on the account concerns a different record. Changing a device identifier should not be described as deleting that record or meeting the return conditions.
